The Compass Trombone Quartet

The Compass Trombone Quartet, founded in June of 2023, is comprised of Alex Knutrud, Alexis Smith, Myles Blakemore, and Rose Doylemason. The Compass Quartet's mission is both to diversify and expand the trombone quartet repertoire while experiencing the joy of performing with your friends.

Compass has performed across the country, including recitals at the 2024 International Trombone Festival in Forth Worth and the 2025 International Women's Brass Conference in Hartford. In spring of 2025, the members of Compass joined their colleague Myles in residency at the University of Maryland.
